How is broom finish concrete done?
After the necessary preparation of the ground base and the reinforcing steel (rebar or mesh) and wood forms are installed, the concrete is placed screeded, floated and troweled to a smooth finish.
Upon waiting to a certain point in which the concrete surface is hardening and all of the cut lines, and edges are troweled in, either a 3 foot wide horse hair or tampico brush is used to lightly scratch the surface of the concrete.
After brooming the surface, the cut lines and edges are once more done to clean up and imperfections.
Broom finish concrete is most suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, sun decks and is the most common of all concrete finish types.
